This past April, Ph.D Student Tony Hoang won the Blackstone Business competition with a $17,000 cash prize, aided by classmate Antoinette Frasier and his business advisor/mentor, Stephanie Black, Ph.D, who is in the faculty of the Business Schooll, specializing in entrepreneurship.

Tony is currently using this seed money to build protypes to start his own centrifuge-based diagnostic equipment company called “Advanced Modular Instruments”, the first academic spin-off from the RNA Institute!
