Now that the lab has officially opened, we are off to a great start!  Our PNAS paper on RNA folding was featured in a special commentary in PNAS, and was recommended by Faculty of 1000!

Plus, we have two new additions to our lab:

  • Paul Gasper, Ph.D has joined as the lab’s first postdoc!  Paul comes from Andy MacCammon’s group at UCSD, were his thesis work dealt with using accelerated molecular dynamics to investigate thrombin allostery. Paul will be working on modelling miRNA interactions with the Hepatitis C Virus in collaboration with Cara Pager’s Lab. Welcome Paul!
  • Sri Ranganathan, Ph.D, has joined the RNA Institute as the Advanced Computational Manager.  Sri comes from Shekhar Garde’s group at RPI where he studied hydrophobic effect and ion-ion interactions at nanoscale interfaces using molecular dynamics simulations. Sri will be working primarily as a collaborator with other RNA Institute faculty, but will be closely coordinating with research in our lab.  Welcome Sri!
